The investment
process.

A repeatable, transparent sequence — from first conversation to ongoing stewardship. We document each stage so you always know where we are and what comes next.

Stages · i — vi

Six stages, documented and repeatable. From first conversation to ongoing stewardship — each step has a clear deliverable, a defined timeline, and an owner.

i. Weeks 1 — 2

Discovery

A conversation. No fee. No commitment.

We listen first. Family, business, time horizon, what the wealth is for. Whether we move forward together depends on fit — for both sides.

Confidential
ii. Weeks 2 — 4

Architecture

Balance sheet, entities, constraints — fully mapped.

A complete picture: assets, liabilities, ownership structures, liquidity needs, tax posture, and any constraints inherited from prior arrangements. Nothing assumed.

Engagement begins
iii. Weeks 4 — 6

Policy

The Investment Policy Statement — signed and governing.

Objectives, allocation ranges, liquidity tiers, and risk parameters codified in writing. The IPS is the document we return to in every market — calm or otherwise.

Written + signed
iv. Weeks 6 — 10

Build

Phased deployment across public and private markets.

Implementation is deliberate, not hurried. Public market positions are established first; private allocations layer in as opportunities clear underwriting. Every trade documented, every position rationalized.

Documented
v. Continuous

Stewardship

Rebalancing, harvesting, reporting — on schedule.

Disciplined ongoing management: drift monitored, losses harvested where useful, distributions and cash flow coordinated. Quarterly reports show what changed and why.

Quarterly cadence
vi. Year-end

Review

The year examined. The plan recalibrated.

A year-end conversation: what worked, what shifted, what changes in your life or in the markets warrant an update to the policy. The plan stays current because the people in it stay in conversation.

In person

Documented at every stage. Reviewable at every step.

Principles in motion · i — iii
i.

One owner per relationship.

A partner is accountable from discovery onward. No handoffs, no relationship-manager-on-rotation. The person who designed the plan is the person who runs it.

ii.

Written, then revisited.

The Investment Policy Statement is not a formality. It is the document we read together when markets move — calm or otherwise — to decide whether a reaction is warranted or whether the plan still holds.

iii.

Coordination, not silos.

Tax, estate, and insurance decisions are made alongside portfolio decisions — not after them. We work directly with your CPA and counsel so the plan moves as one piece.

Stage i.

Begin with
discovery.

The first conversation costs nothing and commits to nothing. It is simply where the process — if it begins at all — begins.
